I couldn’t sleep so decided to grab my camera and head for the shores of Buttermere to catch the sunrise. A layer of mist had formed over these trees and white cottage at the head of the lake. This panorama was stitched together from 8 separate photographs to capture the detail in the shot. The lake was perfectly still providing stunning reflections of the fells. After roughly ½ an hour the mist started to clear and the waters started to ripple destroying the mirror-like effect. I felt privileged to be there to capture this fleeting moment.
