Tarn Hows
LD8717
A panoramic image taken from a walk around the beautiful Tarn Hows near Coniston in the Lake District, Cumbria. At the side of a very narrow single track road that rises up from the head of Coniston Water at Monk Coniston you come to a small National Trust car park tucked away in the trees. Directly opposite is a small path that leads around Tarn Hows. This was originally three small natural tarns but was re-landscaped to form a single larger tarn in the 1860’s.
